Our Story

From cattle station to world class wedding venue

A Step Back In Time

Earlando has not always existed as we now know and love it.

It has had several different lives and has many a story to tell! The story began in the 1960’s when a young Mr Earle and his step father Mr Anderssen, merged their two family names together to create what we now call “Earlando”. When they arrived, Earlando was nothing more than a beach shack surrounded by acres of scrub and bush land. Friends and family told them they were crazy to think anything could be done with this spot of land – little did they know!

Farm Life

One of the first plans for Earlando was to make it into a farm and a working cattle station. Paddocks were cleared and cattle were bought and raised. This original plan is still going strong today with a small herd of very lucky cows who live quietly on the land and enjoy the views!

Cultivating The Land

The next stage was to cultivate the land and grow crops. A few different crops were grown here; avocados, pawpaws and of course mangoes. Whilst the avocados and the pawpaws have disappeared, the mango tress still remain and play an important part in our famous Mango Daiquiris! Yum!

Resort Fame

By the 1970’s construction for what many locals grew to know and love was underway and Earlando Resort was born. Famous for being the local hangout, a seaside restaurant and campsite, but above all for its mean seafood smorgasboard Saturdays! if you look carefully when you arrive at Earlando, the original sign seen in this photo is still as clear as day!

Taking a Break

In the year 2003, it was time for the family and the natural coastland to take a break from running a campsite and the resort came to a close. In 2016, the family decided to open up the beautiful surroundings once more, however this time for private events and weddings.

Wedding Heaven

Friends of the family agreed to be guinea pigs for our first wedding in 2016, and with 165 guests, they certainly threw us in at the deep end! The wedding was a huge success and we must admit, we caught the love bug!

A Special Place

Several years on and all we can say is WOW! After hosting our share of weddings and events it's clear this is what Earlando is destined for. Guest after guest say ``there's something about the venue``, ``it just feels special``, ``you can't see it in photos but when you're here it's electric``. We can't wait to welcome you and your family!

Be A Part Of Our Story

From the moment after we hosted our first wedding, we knew this was what our venue was destined for. Earlando has been welcoming loved up couples from all over Australia and the world ever since.

    Meet The Owners

We understand the importance of good old fashioned, honest bush hospitality.

    Ben and Teena

    Managing Directors

Ben, born and bred in Charters Towers is a real country boy at heart. He has lived and worked at Earlando for the past 15 years. ``What I love most about our business is sharing Earlando with our guests that will enjoy their time here as much as I do!`` Teena, like Ben, is a proud Mum to their two children and a true bush girl. Earlando has always been Teena's home and she spent all of her childhood growing up here. “I love sharing the magic that Earlando brings to everyone and I also love being able to provide good old fashioned, honest bush hospitality”

For the love of nature, family and friends.

Earlando is one of the Whitsundays most endearing venues with locals remembering lovingly the days where weekends were spent immersed in nature with family and friends. When you turn off the main road and start heading towards the coastline on our dirt track, you too will see why this is one of Queenslands most revered wedding venues.
