Gemma and Daniel

A Love Story with Ocean Views, Cows & a Dancefloor Faceplant: Gemma & Daniel’s Earlando Wedding

Some love stories start with a grand gesture. For Gemma and Daniel, it began with a girl, a bucket of soap, and a very curious neighbour. While washing a friend’s car just a few houses down, Gemma caught Daniel’s eye—and he couldn’t resist heading down the street to investigate the “cute little blonde girl” he’d spotted. That chance encounter would lead to a love story filled with laughter, family, and a wedding day they’ll never forget.

When it came to proposing, Daniel and Gemma took a modern twist—they went ring shopping together. But the proposal itself still had its surprises. Once the ring arrived, Daniel placed it temptingly on Gemma’s dressing table, telling her she’d have to wait for the perfect moment. That moment came when their daughter Scarlette sweetly popped the question on Daniel’s behalf. The only hitch? Scarlette was so taken with the ring, she didn’t want to part with it—so naturally, they had to buy one for her too!

Gemma and Daniel chose Earlando for its breathtaking views and natural beauty. “It was the best of both worlds,” they shared. “You get those ocean views and farm views… and you can’t forget those cows!” The couple’s styling embraced the relaxed magic of the location, letting the surroundings shine as they celebrated with their loved ones.

Their favourite part of the day? “The whole day was amazing,” they said. But meeting Gus the cow and dancing the night away with their nearest and dearest topped the list. The dancing, however, came with a twist—literally. In a moment of pure joy, Gemma tripped over her dress, faceplanted the concrete, and chipped her tooth. The best part? She didn’t even notice until the next morning. “Everyone laughs about how I staked it super hard, got back up, and just kept dancing!”

Though the couple haven’t taken a honeymoon yet—”One day when the kids are older,” they say—they’ll always have the memories of their Earlando wedding. Their advice for future couples? Embrace the magic, the mishaps, and everything in between.

“A big thank you to everyone who made our special day as amazing and magical as it was!”
