Jade and Jared

Tell us your love story? How did you meet?
Jared and I had crossed paths a few times at social events in Mount Isa. Then one night at “The Irish Club” Jared grabbed me by the hand and bought me a drink. We have been together for the last 15 years.

The Proposal – him or her? Was it a surprise?
It was important to Jared that not only was the moment he proposed perfect, but the ring he had chosen, had to be the perfect representation of his love. I had arranged for one of my best friends to come down and celebrate New Year’s Eve with us. Jared knew this was it and decided to asked my family for my hand in marriage. The scene was set, the lead up seemed to take forever for Jared and after a long period of freaking out, finally the fireworks went off! Jared managed to get the ring in his hands, got down on one knee and said some words… He still can’t remember if the words that came out were even close to what he had intended to say. After all of that, I of course said YES!

Your Honeymoon Plans?
We already live in such a special part of Australia, we decided to show it off and invite our bridal party, family and guests to experience the beautiful Whitsundays and Whitehaven Beach, on a private charter with Ocean Rafting. We thought it was the perfect way to relax, unwind and spend time with all the special people in our lives, who we hadn’t seen for a while.

Why did you choose Earlando? Was there something that made it stand out from other venues for you?
When we first heard Earlando was opening the family property for weddings, we were instantly interested as our own family members had many fond memories of when they used to visit Earlando. We met Ben at the Wedding Expo and we discussed our requirements and what Earlando had to offer. For us Earlando ticked every box and offered a unique beauty and flexibility that other venues could not. We felt that Earlando’s unique combination of Beach meets the Bush, as a venue represented who we are, as we both have a strong connection to both. Not to mention the variety of stunning photography options around the property.

Did you have a theme to your wedding/wedding styling? What inspired this?
Our styling was simple, classic and timeless. Jared and I had a strong focus on giving our bridal party, family and guests a sense of adventure, excitement and celebration of love.

What was your favourite part of your wedding?
We had so many special moments and highlights on our wedding day. As the Bride, arriving at the wedding with my Dad and maid of honour by Helicopter was definitely a fun way to make an entrance. First the stunning aerial view of the Whitsunday Islands and bays, from Abel Point Marina to Earlando’s own helipad and flying over Mabuhay that the Bridal Party had arrived on. From the chopper we could wave to the kids playing on the beach and see all of our guests as they made their way to the ceremony area. Walking down the aisle to all of our family and friends and of course exchanging vows with the love of my life. We both loved our photo tour, as we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery while Summer Rain was capturing some amazing shots. Another moment we both enjoyed was looking over the dance floor and seeing all our guests dancing to the band, smiling and happy. That was very satisfying to us!

Do you have any advice for future brides?
Enjoy every moment and take the time during your celebration to soak it all in..

Is there anything else you would like to add?
It was fantastic to deal with so many helpful and professional suppliers in the Whitsunday area. Ben, Teena, Hannah and all the Earlando staff, we can’t thank you enough for going above and beyond to make our wedding day so special to us.
