Sarah and Taylor

Tell us your love story.  How did you meet?

We met at high school, but didn’t get together until Sarah’s 18th Birthday when Taylor approached her at a nightclub. Been Inseparable ever since.

The Proposal – him or her?  Was it a surprise?

We were in Brisbane for a friends wedding and  had a spare full day before we flew home on the Sunday. Taylor suggested we should go to Noosa for the day. When we got to Noosa he was trying to find a “bay” to swim at, however when we got there It was actually an old style speedboat private tour that took us around the Noosa canals before pulling up to an Island for a picnic lunch. We had hardly gotten out of the boat before Taylor was down on one knee. It was a very easy yes!

Where did you spend your honeymoon?

3 nights on Hamilton island before 3 nights in the hinterlands of the Sunshine Coast and finished it off with 5 days in Noosa.

Why did you choose Earlando?  Was there something that made it stand out from the other venues for you?

We found Earlando by chance. After getting engaged, Sarah’s mum mentioned a place called Orlando in palm cove. Sarah however thought she meant “Earlando” and googled away. I then spent 45 minutes on the Earlando website falling in love with every detail. From the beautiful views to the perfect ceremony location. We always knew we wanted to be married somewhere secluded and private and Earlando had all of this and more. Being from Townsville and having a lot of family and friends travel interstate for the wedding, we also wanted a place people can meet and make a holiday out of it. The Whitsundays was perfect for this and once we visited Earlando the first time, we knew this was going to be our wedding venue.

Did you have a theme to your wedding/wedding styling?  What inspired this?

We didn’t really have a theme for the wedding. I’m a big believer in my vendors are the professionals and I had full trust they would do something perfect. My florist oh poppi was wonderful in helping me decide a style to go with which was costal romance. All vendors nailed this for us.

What was your favourite part of your wedding?

We can not just pick one. Everything was just amazing. From getting ready in the morning, to seeing each other when we walked down the aisle, to our vows, to the fun had on the photo tour, the speeches, the amazing food, amazing staff and then the dance party. It was honestly the most perfect day!

Tell us a funny story about your wedding day/wedding planning!

When we were on the photo tour, my photographer suggested a spot near a creek, so Ben proceeded to drive as two other cars with photographer and bridal party followed. As we got further into the thicker grass we started to realise that this might not have been the best idea. We all had a good laugh about it and was a fun off road experience!

Do you have any advice to future Earlando wedding couples?

Firstly you have chosen the most perfect location! Secondly just enjoy every minute. I know you will hear people say a lot the day goes fast so soak it in, but the day really does fly by, so don’t waste it sweating the small stuff and just enjoy it all and remember why you are there, to marry the love of your life.
